Bible CommentariesThere are a number of different kinds of Bible Commentaries. There are small, basic commentaries which are written for your average reader with little or no prior knowledge of the Bible or the biblical book or section of the Bible commented on. These include the basic one-volume or multi-volume commentaries. There is a lot of fluff out there, so I have included only commentaries which have some depth. In addition to the more basic commentaries I have listed the main scholarly biblical commentaries. These go into more detail than many amateur students of the New Testament would like or need. They are best as reference for details about a given passage or issue of interpretation. I have also included a few devotional commentaries. These are more focused of theological or spiritual issues.
